PARRY, Marguerite F. (Lydon) Of Needham, formerly of Wellesley, 85, died peacefully on March 23, at North Hill. Beloved wife of 62 years of Colonel Robert Thorndike Parry, USMCR(ret).
She is survived by her children Janet Parry Ware and her husband Dwight of Gloucester, Nancy Parry Doran and her husband George of Wayland, Dr. Robert Lydon Parry of Cleveland, OH and Kimberly Sober Parry also of Cleveland, OH.
She leaves ten grandchildren: Elizabeth Ware Sargent and her husband Jim of Gloucester, Jeffrey John Doran and his fiancee Colleen Doody of Boston, Dwight Atwood Ware of Gloucester, Courtney Dugan Doran of Boston, Allison Doran Olcott and her husband Timothy Stratton Olcott of Boston, Tyler Ware of Gloucester, Caitlin Deschenes Doran and Christopher Robert Doran of Wayland, and Devin Elizabeth Parry and Robert Carter Thorndike Parry of Shaker Heights, OH. She leaves three great grandchildren Taylor, Luke and Chase Sargent of Gloucester.
She was the sister of Winifred, Mary, Joseph, John, and James Lydon, and Dorothy Britt; and beloved sister-in-law of Dorothy Lydon.
Lovingly known as Marmie to family and friends, Peg Parry was a devoted member of the Wellesley Garden Club, a longtime docent at the Davis Museum of Wellesley College, and valued supporter of the MFA, Boston. She and her husband were founding members of the TNTG at Wellesley Country Club where they enjoyed many years of friendship with a very special group. Marmie had a lifelong passion for art, books, travel and nature, and instilled that love and joy in all of her children and grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's Church, Wellesley, on Thursday March 26, 2009 at 10AM. A reception at Wellesley Country Club will follow.
