Obituary

Mr. Armand Addario, 88, of 48 Cascade Flats, Gorham, NH, passed away on Monday March 23, 2009 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin, NH on December 6, 1920 the son of Valentino and Pasquarosa (Dalphonse) Addario and was a lifelong resident of Cascade. He served in the US Army and was employed by John Hancock Insurance Company and retired at age 62. He enjoyed boxing and was the 1940 Amateur Champion, 126 pounds, in Lewiston, ME. He was a member of Holy Family Church, the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW, the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion and the Knights of Columbus-3rd Degree. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Members of the family include his wife Lucille (Devost) Addario of Cascade-Gorham, NH; 1 daughter Janet Hansen and husband John of Tenants Harbor, ME; 2 sons Richard Addario and wife June of Cascade-Gorham, and Steven Addario of Cape Elizabeth, ME; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 brother John Addario of Cascade-Gorham, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ferrante, and 4 brothers Joe Addario, Eugene Addario, Tony Addario and Constantine Addario.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 26, 2009 at 10 AM at Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham, NH on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, One Bedford Farms Dr., Suite 105, Bedford, NH, 03110 or the Alzheimer’s Respite Center, 611 Sullivan St., Berlin, NH, 03570.
