Sebastian L. Messina, 84, of St. Charles St., Derry, NH, died Monday, June 23, 2003 at the Integrated Health Services of Derry. He was born in Lawrence, MA on June 8, 1919 a son of the late Michael and Josephine (Russo) Messina. He was a resident of Derry for over 60 years, formerly living in Lawrence, MA. Mr. Messina was a US Navy WWII veteran. He had been employed for many years as a barber at Lou’s Barbershop in Derry. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. (Cooper) Messina of Derry, his daughter, Mrs. Christopher (Maria R.) Mastriano of Atkinson, NH, two grandchildren, Christie and Joseph, his sister, Lucy Civello of Peabody, MA, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26th at 10:00 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The burial will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry, NH. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 – 8. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 710 W. 168th St., New York, NY 10032.
