Elsie J. (Gath) Arseneault

Elsie J. (Spares) (Gath) Arseneault, age 93, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, after a short period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Albert Arseneault and the former wife of the late William "Happy" Gath.
She was born September 18, 1915, in Nova Scotia and raised in Maine, a daughter of the late Ernest and Eva (Woodworth) Spares. She moved to this area employed as a "Lowell Mill Girl" and had lived in Tewksbury since 1934. She was formerly a volunteer at Lazarus House in Lawrence, a member of St. Williams Sodality in Tewksbury, and a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Aztec, NM.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law; William D. Gath of Aztec, NM, Richard A. Gath and his wife Margaret of Tewksbury, Michael R. Gath and his wife Carole of Windham, NH, three daughters and sons-in-law; Dawn Cornelio and her husband Nick of St. Petersburg, FL, Colleen Dube and her husband Larry of Derry, NH, Edna Moran and her husband Walter of Lake Ariel, PA, fifteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Edna White
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, March 26, in St. Williams Church, Tewksbury. Burial will be in Nova Scotia at a later date. Memorials to Lazarus House Ministries, P.O. Box 408, Lawrence, MA 01842, will be appreciated.
