Cathy L. Thompson, 46, of Manchester, NH, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester. Cathy was born in Manchester on January 17, 1963, a daughter of Kenneth R. Wentworth, Sr. and Donna L. (McGrath) McFarland. She was raised and educated in Derry and attended Pinkerton Academy. She was a resident of Manchester since 1983. Cathy was a dedicated employee who worked for Verizon in Manchester for 18 years. She was a take charge kind of person which helped her as a Verizon Union Representative for the IBEW 2320 in Manchester. Cathy was very family oriented, as everything revolved around her family her entire life. She was certain the best thing she ever did was to become a mother. Her home was always open to all and she enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She also enjoyed reading and collecting Barbie Dolls.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Mark C. Thompson of Manchester, two daughters, Jolene Thompson and Shanna Thompson, both of Manchester, her grandson, Devon Thompson of Manchester, her mother and step-father, Donna L. and Robert McFarland of Derry, NH, her father, Kenneth R. Wentworth, Sr. of Derry, a brother, Kenneth R. Wentworth, Jr. of Manchester, an aunt, Sally Pugh and her husband Delbert of Derry, her cousin and best friend, Susan Pugh of Derry, as well as by many step brothers and step sisters.
Following cremation visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 4-6pm with a celebration of her life to be held at 6:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Spring burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
