Elijah M. Alvarado, 16, of New Bedford died March 19, 2009 unexpectedly at home.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Martha Alvarado, he lived in New Bedford since 2001.
Elijah was in his sophomore year at New Bedford High School and was a proud member of the J.R.O.T.C.
He was a member of the Boys and Girls Club of New Bedford.
Survivors include his mother; his father, Jamione Washington; his brother, Joshua Alvarado of New Bedford; his aunts and uncle, Anna Tolentino of New Bedford, Naomi Salas of Texas, Iris Salas of New Bedford and Juan Roman, Jr. of New York; several cousins.

His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 24th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, March 23rd from 3-8 PM.
