Obituary

Arlene Lillian Keezer (Morse), 84, of Manomet, died Monday, March 16th at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late David M. Keezer, married 26 years and former wife of Bernard A. Otto. Born November 22, 1924, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Earl E. Morse and Elsie L. (White) Morse. She graduated from Plymouth High School, class of 1942 and earned her Registered Nursing degree at Massachusetts Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She was the head of the maternity ward at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth and was promoted to the Obstetrics Supervisor position until she retired in 1986. A plaque, commemorating her 40 years of outstanding service, resides at The Birth Place at Jordan Hospital. She was an inspiration to many and considered a “Hero” in the eyes of one of her fellow nurses interviewed by the Old Colony Memorial in a Snapshot article. She was a sun worshipper and loved entertaining family and friends at her shore front home in Manomet and also at her winter residence in Juno Beach, FL. Arlene’s love of travel, included Hawaii, Japan, Greece, Egypt, India, France, Germany and Italy. She was an avid reader, enjoyed flower gardening, music and ceramics, with doll making being her favorite hobby, adding to her large collection. She was sister of the late Roy E. Morse, niece of the late H. Dorothea Martinelli “Dor” and the late Alton F. White and grandmother of the late Peter T. and John B. Murdock. Arlene is survived by three daughters and three sons, Lynnette J. (Otto) Murdock and husband Stephen, Albert E. Otto and wife Evelyn, Barry P. Otto, Christopher B. Otto and wife Anne all of Plymouth, Melissa L. (Otto) Jette and husband Steven of Laconia, NH and Jennifer A. (Otto) Tanis of Plymouth and three step children, Paula, Robert, and Suzanne and 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday March 28th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd, (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet). Burial service will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Jordan Hospital Birth Place, 275 Sandwich St, Plymouth, MA 02360.
