In New Bedford, March 17, 2009 Jean (Konnerth) wife of Andrew Konnerth, died at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford at the age of 86. Born in Dansville Illinois, Jean was the daughter of the late Karl and Elsie (Braunschott) Konnerth. She received her BFA at Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1946. Jean and her husband moved to Mattapoisett in 1998 where she was a self employed A
artist in jewelry and later on in print making. From 1998-2007 she and her husband was the designer for many whale sculptures in many museums around the country. She also was the conferee of the world craft counsel in Kyoto, Japan. Jean was the mother of Karen M. Konnerth of New Orleans, Lynn A. Konnerth of Fairfax, VA and Andrew Konnerth III of No. Smithfield RI. Grandmother of Michael Konnerth of No. Smithfield, RI, Flora Shepherd of Pittsburg, PA, Kyle Shepherd of New Orleans, Dora and Ellen Maxwell both of Fairfax, VA. Sister of Karl Konnerth of Putnam Valley, NY. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
