Valentine “Tiny” McKuhen Jackson, 93, of Brookfield died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Gary Cadwell will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Jackson was born on February 14, 1916 in McRae (Telfair County) and was the daughter of James L. McKuhen and Georgia B. Harelson McKuhen, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joel Davis Jackson, who died in 1972. She was retired as a food server with the school system and a member of Brookfield Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marguerite and Chuck Conner of Tifton and Dorothy and Carey Cameron of Stone Mountain; one brother, W. C. McKuhen of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Thelma Apperson of Albany and Vera Bragg of California; four grandchildren, Janet Lott, Debbie Conner, Joel Cameron and Becky Jones; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
