West Boylston-Charles J. Nolan, 85, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 17. He is survived by his wife, Joan A. (Kelley) Nolan; his daughters, Diane DiCicco and her husband, Paul of West Millbury, Janet Bedard and her husband, Bruce of Westford, Patti Weston and her companion, Stoddard Vanderstelle of San Jose, CA; his sons, Paul of Norfolk and his companion, Grace Loppolis of West Boylston and Thomas of West Boylston; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. His daughter, Barbara Gray and two brothers, Francis and Philip predeceased him.
He was born in Clinton son of Frank and Sarah (Philbin) Nolan and graduated from Holy Cross College in 1948 and Suffolk Law School in 1960. He also played Minor League baseball. Mr. Nolan was an officer in the Navy in Brooklyn, NY during WW II and again in the Korean War, he was stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Mr. Nolan was a lawyer in West Boylston for many years. Previously, he worked for Travelers Insurance Company from 1947 to 1969. Mr. Nolan served on the West Boylston School Committee from 1964 to 1968. He was a member of the West Boylston American Legion Post 204.
Mr. Nolan’s Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 20 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will be private. There are no visiting hours.
