Sister Paul Edouard, pm, (Sr. Marie-Jeanne Rose Anna Pratte), age 101, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died March 15, 2009 at St. Joseph Residence.
Born in Lebanon, NH on January 23, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clotide (Touchette) Pratte.
She received a bachelor of education degree from Rivier College in Nashua, NH.
She entered the Presentation of Mary Congregation in St. Hyacinthe, PQ, Canada, on September 1st, 1926 and professed her first Vows on February 2nd, 1929 and Final Vows, August 15, 1934. She celebrated the 80th Anniversary of her religious profession on February 2nd of this year.
Sister was an educator who ministered as a dedicated teacher in elementary schools of the Dioceses of Manchester, NH and of Providence, RI for over 59 years. She served as an aide at the PM Summer Camp and also taught Religious Education in various Parishes of the Manchester Diocese during the summer months. In 1992, she retired to St. Marie Residence and in 2001 transferred to St. Joseph Residence.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial followed in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.
