Mrs. Angeline (Korbas) Ziogas, 86, formerly of Lowell passed away Thursday March 12th at her daughters home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Angie was born August 21, 1922 in Lowell, Massachusetts a daughter of the late George and Mary(Liakoura) Korbas.
A lifelong resident of Lowell, Angie was educated through the Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School. She worked at DeMoulas Market Basket for over twenty years as a cashier up until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Angie was a member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Mr. Christos Ziogas, a daughter, Margo DiBenedetto and her husband Mark of Westford, a son, Steven Ziogas and his wife Michele of Pelham, N.H.; a sister, Pauline Korbas of Lowell; a brother, John Korbas and his wife Effie of Canton; three grandchildren, Angela and C.J. Ziogas, and Nicholas DiBenedetto, also several nieces and nephews.
Angie was the sister to the late Ernie Korbas.
Friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Sunday from 3 to 6p.m. The funeral will take place on Monday at 9a.m. from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church at 10am.
