WORCESTER__ Adele (Mikolajczyk) Dymek, a life long Worcester resident, formerly of 7 South Stowell St., died Wednesday, March 11, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St. Her husband of 57 years, Joseph Dymek died November 30, 1997.
She leaves two daughters, Deborah A. Dymek, her long time caregiver and Jim Clifford of Millbury; Dorothy Stodulski and her husband, Eugene of North Port, Florida; a grandson, Scott Stodulski of Fort Walton, Florida; a brother, John Mikolajczyk, two sisters, Theresa Girouard and Eleanor Lambert, all of Worcester and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Emily Wisnewski, Jane Mita and Agnes Mikolajczyk and a brother, Joseph Mikolajczyk. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Felix and Amelia (Miskiel) Mikolajczyk.
Mrs. Dymek was a crossing guard at Vernon Hill School for 12 years before retiring. Prior to that she worked as a lunch guard at Union Hill School, she also worked at the Leicester Knitting Mills in Rochdale and the Telechron Division of General Electric Co. in Worcester. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School. In 1938, she was a contestant and trophy winner of the Miss Worcester pageant. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Adele was also a member, past president and officer of the Our Lady of Czestochowa Women’s Guild. She was a Polish speaking secretary for the PNI Women’s Club and a member of the Guild of Our Lady of Providence. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Christopher House and UMASS Memorial Emergency Department and Cardiac Care Unit for the wonderful care given to Adele.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 14, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, March 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s School, c/o 34 Ward St., Worcester, MA, 01610.
