Obituary

Mrs. Louise Johnson, 91, of the Lands Crossing Community of Irwin County, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Irwin County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, March 14, at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Reeves and Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9, Friday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Johnson was born May 7, 1917 in Irwin County to the late Roy and Bertha McMillian Freeman. She lived most of her life in Irwin County and 9 years in Ben Hill County. Mrs. Johnson was a 1935 graduate of Ocilla High School. She was a homemaker, a farm wife and a grade mother for her son. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Eva Nell Johnson of the Lands Crossing Community in Irwin County; granddaughter, Sharon Farmer of Ashburn; great grandchildren, Krystal & Eric Metcalf of Ashburn, Dewayne Farmer of Sycamore and Mysti Farmer of Ashburn and 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters & brothers-in-law, Agnes Kelly of Wray, Betty Laura & Robert Fain and Nell & Cecil Rigdon all of Ocilla; brother -in-law, James Gaff of Ocilla; sister-in-law, Jewell Freeman of Ocilla, as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Jasper Johnson, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
