FOLEY, AL – Lyle J. ‘Nick” Nichols, Sr., age 79 of Foley, AL, formerly of Lawrence and Methuen died Tuesday March 3, 2009 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Windsor, VT on November 16, 1929 he was the son of Lyle H. and Fara (Carter) Nichols. He was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather to many.
The widower of Madeline M. (Senecal) Nichols he is survived by his children, Lorna and Joshua of Foley, AL, Linda Simpson and husband Harry of Dracut, MA, Lee Nichols and Luis Ruiz of Lawrence, MA, Luane Roeger and husband John and Leslie Hopkins and husband Joseph both of Auburn, Maine, Laurie Robinson and husband Steven of Derry, NH, Lionel J. and Jonathan L. Nichols both of Lawrence, MA and Christopher M. Nichols of Foley, AL.
Sisters Ellen Horvath of Foley, AL and Jacqueline Beeman of Danvers, MA.
Brother Arthur “Butch” Nichols of Foley, AL.
Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his sons Lyle J., Larry M. and daughter Lisa Marie.

Family and friends may call on Saturday March 14, 2009 from 1:00p.m. – 3:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Hone, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral service will follow at 3:00p.m. at the funeral home with private burial at a later date.
