Vincent W. Baroni

TEWKSBURY - Vincent W. Baroni, age 98, died peacefully in his sleep at home, Monday, March 9, after a brief period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Brun) Baroni, who died September 3, 1987, having lived in South Lowell for most of their 51 year marriage.
He was born in Somerville, MA, on March 1, 1911, the son of the late Daniel and Milany (Doroni) Baroni. He grew up in North Billerica attending local schools, the Howe High School, and the former Lowell Textile Institute, now U-Mass Lowell.
He worked as a tool and die maker for several Lowell area machine shops, including Remington Arms, and Brooks Machinery. He retired in 1966, after working nearly 20 years for the General Electric, Wire and Cable Division in Lowell.
Throughout his life he enjoyed pencil sketching, hunting, fishing and gardening. He had a "green thumb" and grew many fruit trees from seeds that continue to produce today. His early retirement years were spent living at Lake Nabnasset in Westford, where he enjoyed his Sea-doo and fishing. He was a former member and pistol champion at the old Lowell Sportsmen's Club, and was once active in the Westford Rod and Gun Club. His favorite stories included many escapades upon his Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles while in his youth.
He is survived by two children, daughter Barbara and her husband Edward Flanagan of Tewksbury, with whom he had made his home for the past twenty two years, and son Daniel and his wife Mary (St. Pierre) Baroni of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; seven grandsons, their spouses and children, Michael and Sheila (Patterson), Alice, Elizabeth, and Edward Flanagan of Needham, MA; Daniel and Donna (Flynn), Patrick, Kevin, and Mark Flanagan, of Wilmington, MA; David and Valerie (Greene), Ryan, Benjamin, Joshua, Luke, and Shannon Flanagan, of Brunswick, ME; Andrew and Susan (Sheehan) Flanagan of Bar Harbor, ME; Capt. Stephen Flanagan, U.S. Army Special Forces stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado; Christopher and Miriam (Valenzuela), Christopher, and Daniela Baroni of Trabuco Canyon, CA; Scott and Susan (Sorcen), Joseph, Samantha, and Ryan Baroni of Lake in the Hills, Illinois; a great granddaughter, Kathleen (Flanagan) and her husband Arthur Bon Conselho, and great-great grandson Gabriel of East Boston; a brother, Sergio John Baroni of Phoenix; and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by brothers Harold, Ralph, and Joseph Baroni; and twin great granddaughters, Sarah and Hannah Flanagan.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, March 14, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed in St. Joseph's Cemetery, East Chelmsford.
