David J. Allen 63, of Monponsett passed away Saturday March 7th in his home and surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marianne (Green) Allen.
Born in Quincy and raised in Weymouth he was the son of Barbara (Wilcox) Allen of Weymouth and the late Joseph Allen.
David was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Navy from 1965 – 1967, then transferring to the Navel Reserves. He was employed by the Defense Contract Management Agency in Boston.
Dave enjoyed photography, bowling, dancing and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his daughter Adrienne (Allen) Freeman and her husband Kevin of Baltimore, Maryland, his son Graham Allen and his wife Kristin of Brockton, a step-son Lee Buskey of Monponsett, one grandson and one granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister Dyanne Townson and her husband David of Weymouth, his brother Douglas Allen and his wife Carol of Brockton, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Daniel Allen.
A memorial service will be held Sunday March 15th at 5 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 2-5 PM. Burial will be held Monday March 16th at 10 AM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
