Lenona "Lee" Conger Thornton, 90, of Tifton died Monday, March 9, 2009, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Charles Nelley, Rev. N. C. Spradley and Rev. Jason Jones will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Thornton was born on December 6, 1918 in Tift County and was the daughter of Ruben Benjamin Conger and Estelle Hipps Conger, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of New River Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thornton is survived by her husband, Donald "Don" Thornton of Tifton; and one sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Bill Miller of Ellijay.
