William James Freeburn, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, in The Hermitage after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Helen R. (Reiman) Freeburn, and sister, Sally Freeburn. William was born in Worcester, son of Catherine J. (Walker) and James Freeburn. Sgt. Freeburn served in the Army with the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. He worked at Norton Company for 34 years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Assn., South Works Post VFW, AF & AM Montague Lodge, and Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Worcester & Valley of Boston.
Friends and family are invited to gather at NORDGREN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Monday, March 9, at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in HOPE CEMETERY, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, Inc., 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
