Barbara Vlahos, 90 of Saugus, died Sunday unexpectedly in the Melrose/Wakefield Hospital, Melrose, MA.
Born in Rhodes, Greece, she lived in Saugus for the past 19 years and formerly of Arlington. Barbara was the daughter of the late Zafiro (Tsouvalos) and Stavros Vutsinas.
Beloved wife of the late Michael T. Vlahos. Devoted mother of Thomas Vlahos and his wife Eva of Georgia, Lola Capobianco and her husband David of Saugus. Loving grandmother of Mark Vlahos and his wife Danielle of Dedham, and Steven Vlahos of Washington. Loving great grandmother of Cole Vlahos. Sister of Irene Hastalis, Tasso Vutsinas, Nicholas Vutsinas and his wife Faye all of Florida and the late Claire Hahn and Lucy McNally. Sister in law of Ann Tsiatsis of New York.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral service celebrated in Taxiarchae/Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family from 9-10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Barbara’s name to the Taxiarchae/Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, MA 02472.
