JONES, William “Bill” M. 80, a life long resident of Plymouth passed away on March 3rd at his home. Bill was the devoted husband of Alice L. (Garrard) Jones. He was the proud father of three daughters, Karen Paulding of Plymouth, Wendy Davies of Virginia and Cindy Jones-Blanchard of Plymouth and two sons, Mark Jones of Middleboro and Brian Jones of Plymouth. Bill was the beloved grandfather of six grandchildren and a great grandfather to three great grandchildren. Bill was born on November 1, 1928 and went on to accomplish so much in his 80 years. Serving his country Mr. Jones was a proud member of the United States Navy in which he served aboard the USS New Jersey from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. Working as a bricklayer and cement finisher for many years, Bill also was a custodian at the Cold Spring School in Plymouth. In addition to being a hardworking man, he loved his family and enjoyed remembering old times and good memories. Mr. Jones was an avid fisherman and hunter enjoying his fishing and hunting shows on television and being first at Fast Eddie’s. A graveside service will be held on Friday March 6th at 10 am at Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth. Bill’s family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, MA 02360 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
