Alice M. (Burdick) Livingston, age 70, passed away March 2, 2009 at her home.
She was born May 17, 1938 in Stonington, the daughter of Ellery and Alice (Latham) Burdick. Alice graduated from Stonington High School class of 1957.
She was employed as a secretary at BAE in Newport prior to her retirement due to illness in 2003.
Alice was an accomplished crafter, known for her crocheting and quilting skills. She also enjoyed her floral gardens and bird watching. She was a member of the National Wildlife Assoc and the Audobon Society.
She is survived by her five children, Mark Livingston of Matawan, NJ, Hobart T. Livingston IV of North Stonington, Nancy Nieuwenhuis of Mystic, Robert Livingston of Hopkins MN, Peter Livingston of Blackwood NJ; her sisters Jane Martley of Stonington, Cathy Holdridge of North Stonington, Marie Magee of Ashaway RI. Alice and her sisters enjoyed each other's company and traveled together often to Ireland. She is also survived by her grandchildren Elaine, Joanna and Brandon Livingston of Matawan NJ, Deena and Jay Nieuwenhuis of Mystic and Baylee Livingston of Blackwood NJ.
She was predecased by a brother, John burdick, and a sister, Nonie Irey.
Alice's family will greet family and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 5-7pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, North Stonington on Saturday at 10;30am. Burial of her urn will be private.
