Luisa Afonso, 91, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Boston Medical Center in Boston. She was the wife of the late Armando Cardoso. Born in Portugal, she was a resident of Sobrainho dos Gaios in Portugal for many years. She was staying in Stoughton with her family on vacation when she was stricken ill. Mrs. Afonso was a seamstress. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and traveling to see family.
Mrs. Afonso was the mother of the late Adelino Cardoso. She was the mother in law of Maria Eugenia (Fraga) Cardoso of Stoughton and the grandmother of Dora Foster and Arthur Cardoso both of Stoughton. She was the great grandmother of Simora Cardoso. She is also survived by 2 brothers.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Thursday, March 5 at 10:30 AM. A Visiting Hour will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton prior to the Mass from 9-10 AM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
