Wallace “Lamar” Pearman, 92, of Tifton died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Grace Manor Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Gilbert Hinson will officiate with burial to follow in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Chula. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Pearman was born on August 1, 1916 in Colquitt County and was the son of Elbert E. Pearman and Viola Bass Pearman, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alta Mae McCurdy Pearman, who died on July 21, 2001; one son, "Wallace" Lamar Pearman, Jr.; and two brothers, Horace Pearman and J. B. Pearman. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Chula. He had lived in Tift County all of his life.
Mr. Pearman is survived one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Jill Pearman of Anderson, South Carolina; one daughter, Angela Pearman DeBruhl of West Columbia, South Carolina; one brother, Frank Pearman of Chula; one sister, Vera Goodman of Chula; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
