James E. Wade, 86

James E. Wade, 86, of Mansfield died on Monday February 9, 2009 at the Bay Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. He was the longtime companion of Susan Ferrara of Mansfield and the husband of the late Shirley C. (MacDonald) Wade.
Born in McCool, Mississippi on June 19, 1922 he was a son of the late William J. Wade Sr. and Laura (Carr) Wade.
Jim was raised and educated in Mississippi and upon graduation from high school he enlisted in the Unites States Navy in May of 1941. His military time during WWII was served on the Destroyer USS Swanson DD443 and he attained the rank of COX. The USS Swanson saw duty in the North Atlantic as well as the Pacific.
Mr. Wade was employed by the New Haven-Penn Central and Amtrak Railroads for over thirty years as a Trainman/Conductor before retiring. He had made his home in Mansfield for many years.
Jim is survived by his children Craig of Anchorage, AK, Robert, Richard, Gregory, Brian, James, William and Bobby all of Mansfield, Elizabeth and Susan of Attleboro, Jennifer of Barre, VT and the late Gary Wade. He was the brother of William Wade Jr. and his wife Brenda of West Point, MS, Betty and her husband Gene of Millington, TN, Della and her husband Paul Wages of Aberdeen, MS, Bobbie White of Millington, TN and the late William M. Wade, Abraham Lacey Wade of Greenwood, MS, Louise James, Lois Thornton and Ella Evans. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and burial will be held at a later date at the Bear Creek Cemetery in Weir, Mississippi.
