Luis A. Figueredo, 84, a resident of Lawrence, MA., for the past 15 years passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Oriente, Cuba, Luis was educated in Cuba. He had worked for many years as a Mechanical Welder for several different American Companies. Luis retired in Cuba and came to Lawrence in 1995. He was a member of "Luz y Constancia" in Cuba, as well as a member of the Mechanical Welder's Union in Havana, Cuba. Luis attended St. Mary of the Assumption Church while here in Lawrence where he helped with the collection. He liked to play Dominos and spend a lot of time with his family..

sons: Luis Angel, Jr., Angel and Jose Figueredo all of Cuba
a stepson: Osvaldo Camejo of Florida
a daughter: Rosa Villar of Florida
a brother: Ciro Figueredo of Florida
sisters: Luz Maria Puentes of Haverhill, MA., Blanca Eva Figueredo of Lawrence, MA., and Berta Figueredo of the Canary Islands, Spain.
Luis is also survived by many grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery, also in Lawrence, MA. Family and friends may call on Monday, March 2, 2009 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
