Jeffrey Ross Morrison, 41, of New Bedford died Sunday June 1, 2003 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of Virginia M. (Mullaly) Morrison of New Bedford and the late James "Buddy" Morrison.
Born in New Bedford, he had lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a member of the North Baptist Church.
Mr. Morrison was formerly employed as a machinist at the Acushnet Company.
He was very devoted to his son, and enjoyed attending his sporting events. He enjoyed playing softball and golf, and had been a baseball coach for the Dartmouth Youth Athletic Association.
Survivors include his mother; a son, Jeffrey R. Morrison Jr. of Fairhaven; 2 step-sons, Michael Buhour and Matthew Buhour, both of Fairhaven; a brother, James J. Morrison, and his fiancée, Deborah Jones, of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Deborah J. Mimoso, and her husband Michael, of Rhinebeck, NY, and Donna J. Spirlet, and her husband Troy, of Westport; his paternal grandmother, Evelyn M. (Bock) Agostinho of New Bedford; his former wife and good friend, Denise Buhour of Fairhaven, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 4, 2003 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
