Obituary

HAVERHILL: Janet M. (O’Donnell) Willett, 91, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late John D. Willett who died in August of 2000.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut on February 12, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth F. (Donovan) O’Donnell. She has resided in Haverhill since 1921 and was a graduate of Haverhill High School class of 1935.
Janet was employed at the former New England Telephone in Haverhill, former Karelis Jewelers and for several years worked for Dr. William Darke in Groveland. She was also a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan C. and Stephen F. Williams, Sr. of Bradford, two sons and daughters-in-law, James M. and Peggy Willett of Derry, New Hampshire and Jack R. and Mary Willett of Orlando, Florida, nine grandchildren, Stephanie Burke of Pelham, NH, Beth Williams of Amesbury, Stephen Williams, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL, James Willett of Sandown, NH, Robert Willett of Loudon, NH, Debra Ambs of Brunswick, ME, Kristin LeBlanc of Lawrence, Robert Willett of New Mexico and Matthew Willett of Orlando, FL, twelve great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, James and Eliette Willett of Lowell and Joanne Willett of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be held Friday in the St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Ave., Haverhill at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held today (Thursday) in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 52 Salem Street, Bradford from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Beacon Hospice, 350 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830 or to the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, c/o “Resident Activities Fund”, 126 Monument St., Haverhill, MA 01832.
