Tommy C. Baker, 67, of Water Valley, MS died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. He was born October 30, 1941 to the late Homer and Lorene Ellis Baker in Leachville, AR. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Water Valley, MS.
The visitation will be Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5 until 7 pm. The funeral service will be Friday, February 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Compton and Dr. Joe Walker presiding. The committal will be held in the First United Pentecostal Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Baker of Water Valley, MS; a daughter, Lisa Brooks of Brastrap, LA; three sons, Tommy C. Baker, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Billy W. Baker of San Antonio, TX and Steven S. Baker (Denise) of Walker, LA; three sisters, Shirley Mallard (Curt) of Indiana, Gloria Croy (Mike) of Missouri and Rita Hodnett (Ronnie) of Florida; two brothers, Edward Baker of Florida and Cecil Baker (Betty) of Tennessee; and seven grandchildren, Dustin Brooks, Brastrap, LA, Aaron Baker of San Antonio, TX, Brian Darby of Water Valley, MS, Cheyanna Baker of Water Valley, MS, Whiney Baker of San Antonio, TX, Andreanna Hodge of Walker, LA, and Taniah Hodge of Walker, LA.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son, William H. Baker and brother, Gary Baker.
