Obituary

Julia (Akikie) Aufiero of Franklin formerly of Lexington and Boston died on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center. Julia was born and raised in Boston. She was a former employee of the A&P in Boston and later went to work for the New England Merchant Bank in the Administrative department. Julia moved to Lexington where she spent many years there. She became active in the Women’s Club at St. Brigid’s Church and the Senior Center when she resided there. Julia was an avid bingo player, she loved to read, travel and dance. Julia was the beloved wife of the late Frederick G. Aufiero who passed away in 1980. She was the loving mother of Geraldine Harrold and her husband Laurence of Norwood, Frederick Aufiero and his wife Gail of Bedford, Donna DeIulio and her husband Alfred of Dedham and Deborah Ellis and her husband Joseph of Franklin. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday Feb. 27th at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Cedars of Lebanon Church 61 Rockwood St. Jamaica Plain at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Joanne Ellis Charitable Foundation, 6 Jason Circle Franklin, MA 02038.
