Monica B. Zygiel, 92, of New Bedford, died Thursday February 19, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John D. and Mary (Ulman) Zygiel, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Miss Zygiel was formerly employed by the Federal Government for 31 years working at the Naval War College in Newport, RI, retiring in January 1973 as an administrative service assistant.
Her family extends their sincere appreciation to the Pastoral Care personnel, staff and care givers for their loving and friendly care during her residency at Sacred Heart Home.
Survivors include three sisters, Althea Banville of Fall River, Helen Gross of Amesbury, and Constance Zygiel of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Irene Doucette, Rita Marcotte, and John D. Zygiel.
