Obituary

Margaret L. (Austin) Turner, a 20 year resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, died on Friday February 20, 2009 at her home in Somerville after a long and courageous battle with lung disease. She was 75 years old.

Margaret was born in Cambridge on June 12, 1933. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1951. Margaret began working for the City of Boston and became a Site Manager with Kit Clark Senior Home Care where she focused on Charlestown, bringing lunch programs to the elderly of Charlestown for over 12 years.

Margeret is the beloved wife of the late George W. Turner. She is the devoted mother of Linda Turner of Everett, Scott Turner and his wife Lisa of Nashua, New Hampshire and the late George W. Turner lll. She is the beloved sister of Marion Gray of Somerville, Ralph Austin of Malden, Janet McCarthy of Charlestown, the late Edward, Robert and Joseph Austin. She is the dear friend of Judy Burton of Charlestown. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday February 23, 2009 from 3 to 7 p.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 7 p.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Cremation will take place following her funeral service.
