Donald Parker, 76, of Summerville, husband of Donna Parker died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Colleton Medical Center.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 11 o’clock at Bethany United Methodist Church, Spell Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville.
Mr. Parker was born November 30, 1932, in Jamestown, NY son of the late Garland D. Parker and Mildred West Parker. Mr. Parker was a Charleston Naval Shipyard Retiree and a Jamestown New York Cresent Tool Retiree. Afterwards he worked as a Dorchester County Bailiff and a Summerville Lowes Greeter. He served in the United States Army, Jamestown National Guard and retired from the United States Air Force National Guard with thirty three years of service. Attended Celoron High School and received an Associates Degree in Law at the Jamestown Community College. Mr. Parker was a very loving grandfather and great-grandfather to his grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include his loving wife Donna, daughter, Connie E. Parker, son, Craig A. Parker and daughter, Lisa P. Chambers and her husband Tommy Chambers, and four wonderful grandchildren; Ashley McLeod, Sean Ludwick, Dana Abdon and Kory Abdon, three great grandchildren, Leah Hand, Athena Ludwick and Beverly Blackwell all of Summerville, SC and two brothers, Thomas Parker of Hudson, FL and Loren Parker of Lakewood, NY. He was preceded by his sister Linda Denslow.
