Marie Odell Edwards, 90, of Water Valley, MS died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at her sister’s residence in Grenada, MS. She was born in Water Valley to the late Otis G. and Cordie Lewelling Edwards. She was a retired secretary and a member of the O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
A visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2009 with Dr. Randy Bain and Rev. Dan Dickerson officiating. The committal service will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Edward Horn, Larry Horn, Steve Horn, Evans Wells, Dr. Andy Jones, and Jeff Horn serving as pallbearers. The Honorary pallbearers are: Larry Kimzey, Terry Anthony, Horace Hardy, Don Peeples, Rev. J. C. Hubbard, William Beck, Dennis McMinn, Dr. Rayford Edgar, and Bob Williams.
Miss Edwards is survived by three sisters, Marjorie Reid of Water Valley, MS, Lucille Horn of Grenada, MS, and Catherine Myers (Wesley) of Memphis, TN; five nieces, Mary Holyfield (Clyde), Betty Strickland (Leon), Ann Arnold (Kenny), Becky Jones (Andy) and Katie Myers; and six nephews, Lynn Woods, Larry Woods, Edward Horn (Linda), Larry Horn (Carole), Steve Horn (Christi), and Brad Myers.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Woods and a brother, Clinton Edwards.
