Harold Basil Walker, Sr., 82, of Enigma died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Dr. Danny Ray will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Walker was born on August 3, 1926 in Berrien County and was the son of Jody Walker and Lou Annie Hancock Walker, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Sumler Walker. He was a farmer and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a United States Army veteran and a retired school bus driver for Berrien County.
Mr. Walker is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Harold "Bud", Jr. and Sandra Walker of Enigma, and Tim Walker of Enigma; four daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Harry Frazier of Enigma, Marcia and Gary Bennett of Omega, Jane and Royce McBrayer of Tifton, and Ilene and Ray Prince of Leesburg; one brother, Sim D. Walker of Tifton; a special friend, Cathy Barber; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
