Jane M. Koontz, 82, of Windham, NH, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 in Derry, NH. Mrs. Koontz was born in Patterson, NJ on November 14, 1926, daughter of the late Milton Haskell and Katharine Marie (Meredith) Linnell. Jane attended Mount Holyoke College as well as the Katharine Gibbs School in New York. She was the owner and founder of Linko Realtors in Wilton, CT. Jane was a very active, prominent figure in the Real Estate community. She served on the boards of several local organizations and participated in many fundraising efforts as well. She was a former resident of Newburyport, MA, Atlanta, GA, Wilton, CT, Greenwich, CT and NYC, NY prior to moving to Windham five years ago.
She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Demme and her husband Ken of Bradenton, FL, Margaret Linnell of Berwick, ME, Elizabeth Koontz and her husband Shepard Johnson of Andover, MA, a son, Walter G. Koontz, Jr. and his wife Linda of Irvine, CA, three grandchildren, Jay Wallace and Leslie Wallace both of Atlanta, GA, Abigail Johnson of Andover, MA, a sister, Gail Sanderson of Sarasota, FL, several nieces, nephews and a cousin. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Walter G. Koontz in 2008.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, there will be a memorial service held at St. Paul’s Church in Newburyport, MA Friday February 27th at 10:30am. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494.
