PETERS, JAMES L. "PETE" SR., 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 13, 2009, at his home.
He was Catholic by faith, a member of VFW Millcreek Post #5421, "The Chosen Few," and the Marine Corp League # 729. He was a Navy and Marine veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. He worked for over 20 years for the Old United Casket Company and worked for the United States Post Office.
He is survived by his wife, Louise C. Peters; children, James Peters Jr. and Gwen Culp; grandchildren, Jamie and Erica Peters and Lesli Burch; and great-grandchildren, Christian and Shawn.
His service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Cremation was chosen.
