Constance (Reed) Tallman, 86, died peacefully at home on February 12, 2009 after a brief illness. Her loving husband of 66 years, Capt. Humphrey L. Tallman, and her children were with her.
Connie was born in New Bedford, the daughter of Helen Allard and Leslie Reed. She graduated from Fairhaven High School and worked for WBSM before marrying her high school sweetheart in 1943. After years of travel as a Navy wife, she and Humphrey settled in Rochester where she helped him run the Rochester Golf Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, Peter and his wife, Cathy of New Hampton, NH, Coralie Hoffman and her husband, John of Fairhaven, NJ, Sara Tallman of Plymouth, and Stuart and his wife, Judy of Rochester. She adored her eight grandchildren, Emily, Jessie, Hannah, Alden, Julie, Sam, Will, and Jake, and her great-grandson, Reed.
Connie loved her family and watching her backyard birds.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 12:30 PM at the Unitarian Memorial Church in Fairhaven.
