Obituary

WEYAND, PERRY GORDON, 68, of Valley Station, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Baptist Hospital East.
Perry was born in Lima, OH, and graduated high school in Connersville, OH. He served in the US Army and later the Army Reserves 100th Engineer Division and was an over the road truck driver. In retirement, he worked at NAPA Auto Parts on Dixie Highway. He was a gardener at Farnsley-Moorman. Perry was known to his friends and family as "Mr. Fix-It," and he enjoyed RV-ing with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Faye; son, Paul; grandchildren, Kassi, Alex and Jessica; his devoted daughter, Amy Yeasayer; brothers, Todd, Cody, Dwight, Eldon; and his sisters, Faith Raymond, Iona Libert, Wonnetta Hugon, Alice Smoot and Mary Brown. He also leaves behind many friends and neighbors who will miss his kindness and generosity, as well as two beloved pets, Sisi and India.
Cremation was chosen.
There will be a memorial service in his honor 1 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
To honor Perry and his love of animals, the family asks in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
