Obituary

WORCESTER

Raymond O. Wallman 93, of Worcester died Wed. Feb. 11 in UMASS Memorial Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 68 years, Evelyn I. (Ulfves) Wallman; a daughter, Jackie Nichols and her companion George Gamble of Worcester; two grandsons, Brett Nichols and his companion Nanci Poulack and James Nichols and his wife Maureen; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a niece, Carol Swanberg and her husband Sig; and a nephew, Roland Sheldon. A brother, Stanley Wallman and a sister, Elsie Sheldon predeceased him. He was born in Worcester son of, John and Hilda (Carlson) Wallman and served in the US Army during WWII, seeing action in five campaigns in the European Theatre, including the Battle of the Bulge.
Raymond was a inspector for 40 years for the Wyman Gordon Company, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, the VFW Post #3657, and SAC Park in Shrewsbury. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing horseshoes. He played semi pro-baseball in the former Blackstone Valley League in his youth.
A Funeral Service will be held Sat. Feb. 14 at 1PM in Lindquist Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler St. Burial will be in All Faith Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Sat., Feb. 14, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester, 01607
