MILLBURY____Albert A. Otis, 90, of Millbury, passed on peacefully into eternal life on Monday February 9, 2009 at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital, Worcester, with his family by his side.
Albert is survived by Virginia M. (Berry) Otis, his devoted wife of 63 years, a son, Richard Otis and his wife Jean of Leominster; a daughter, Carol A. Avedisian and her husband James S. Avedisian of Millbury who were Albert’s devoted caregivers and a granddaughter, Virginia M. Avedisian. Albert was born on August 24, 1918, the youngest son of Joseph and Antonina (Snokaitis) Onusoitis and was predeceased by his sister, Adelle Platt and his brother Vincent “William” Onusoitis.
Mr. Otis was employed by the Bell Company of Worcester for many years and retired from New England High Carbon Wire Co., Millbury after 25 years. Albert proudly served in the U.S. Army for 4 years during World War II and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, WA., where he met his wife. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Worcester, St. Brigid’s Church, Millbury and was a member of the Lithuanian Naturalization Club in Worcester for many years. He enjoyed polka music and dancing and Albert loved to play his violin. Albert was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed. He was a devoted catholic who loved God and his family. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Valerie Veridiano and the staff of Fairlawn Hospital, Floor 1, for their excellent care and compassion during Albert’s brief illness. Also, special thanks to the staff and residents of Radius Healthcare 5th floor, Worcester.
It was Albert’s wish that funeral arrangements would be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Albert in your prayers and that memorial contributions be made to the Diocese of Worcester, Television Ministry, Daily TV Mass, 49 Elm St., Worcester, MA 01609.
