Alba R. (Rigazio) Abbott, 100, of Dartmouth died Tuesday February 10, 2009 at Southeastern Mass. Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Thomas I. Abbott.
Born in New Bedford on January 14, 1909, the daughter of the late Victor M. and Rose (Germano) Rigazio, she lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for many years.
Mrs. Abbott was a beautician who owned and operated Alba's Beauty Shop.
She was a graduate of Wilfred Beauty Academy in Boston.
Survivors include a nephew, Frank Busnengo of New Bedford; a niece, Linda A. Poyant and her husband Roger of Lakeville; a great-nephew, Kevin Poyant; two great-nieces, Annemarie LeFever and husband Chris, and Donna Poyant; and a great-great-niece, Abigail LeFever.
She was the sister of the late Annie R. Busnengo.
