Obituary

WORCESTER: Stella (Chambers) Ashmore, 71, of 41 Everard St., died Friday, February 6, 2009, in her home, after a long illness.
She leaves 9 children, Ronald Chambers of Worcester, Steven Ashmore of Boston, Dana Ashmore of Worcester, Edward Ashmore of Worcester, Eleanor Ashmore of Worcester, Stella Ashmore of Georgia, Priscilla “Pupa” Ashmore of Worcester, Lee Chambers of Worcester, Ronald Chambers of Orange; 2 sisters, Mae Burroughs of Worcester, Priscilla Stanley of Boston; 24 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, Ernest Chambers, and 4 sisters, Eleanor Sampson, Ernestine Smith, Vivian Crayton, and Bernice O. Kelley, all predeceased her.
Stella was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Ernest and Eleanore (Walley) Chambers, and lived here most of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog Lulu, and playing Bingo.
CALLING HOURS will be from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon on FRIDAY, Feb. 13 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., followed by A FUNERAL SERVICE at 12 Noon in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
The family suggests donations in memory of Stella be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
