Obituary

George B. Finlay, 76, of Franklin, died, Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Dianne B. (Cook) Finlay who died in 2004.

Mr. Finlay was a resident of Franklin for over 40 years.

A member of the Painter’s Local #1963, he was a steeple jack, employed by J.W. Eagan Co. for many years before his retirement.

Mr. Finlay’s family was his life and he enjoyed spending time with them and caring for them. He also enjoyed attending the Blaire House Day Center the last five years.

He is survived by three sons, George A. Finlay of N. Walpole, NH, Steven M. Finlay of Bellingham and David P. Finlay of Franklin, three daughters, Joann M. Frink and her husband, Wally of Bellingham, Nancy E. Finlay of N. Walpole, NH and Linda A. Montiero of Woonsocket, RI, his cousin, Betty McKinnon of Wilmington, and his care taker/ friend, Fred Parquette.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, February 14 at 11 a.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Bellingham.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of ones choice.
