OBITUARY

Ashby

Mark G. Thatcher, 90, of Ashby, died Wednesday February4, 2009, at the
Highlands Long Term Care Center.
Mark leaves his son, Scott W. Thatcher and his wife Susan of Ashby; his
daughter Lee T. Halloran and her husband Jim of Lunenburg.
His grandchildren, Maryanne Sango Shanley, George Andrew Sango,
Katherine Sango Jackson, Elizabeth Sango Black and David Scott
Thatcher. Also survived by his sister Natalie A. White of Gloucester, four
nieces, one nephew and ten great grandchildren. His wife of 58 years Lois
W. Thatcher died March 13, 2000.
Mark was born in Winchendon September 8, 1918, the son of Mark G.
Thatcher Sr. and Esther Maybelle (Adams) Thatcher.
Mark graduated from Fitchburg High school in 1935. He worked for 44
years at Simonds Saw & Steel now Simonds Cutting Tools Household
International, retired as Personnel Manager.
Mark was a U.S. Army veteran of World War ll and served in France and
Germany. He was a member of Charles W. Moore Lodge of Masons in
Fitchburg and the Simonds Recreational Club.
Mark enjoyed table tennis, cribbage, jigsaw puzzles and mowing his lawn.
Funeral services and burial are private. Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St.
Fitchburg is assisting the family. Donations in Mark's memory may be
made to the Fire Department/EMT, 1093 Main St. Ashby, Ma. 01431.
