Francis J. Joyce, age 86, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 in Bedford at the VA Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Boston, Frank was the beloved son of the late Mary (Garvin) & Peter Joyce. A resident of Woburn for the last 12 years, formerly of Medford.
Frank was raised in Dorchester and attended Boston city schools. After High School Frank joined the US Navy and served his country proudly, from Nov. 1942 to Dec. 1945. He went on to college and then law school, graduating from Suffolk Law School in Boston. He was Legal council for the Veteran's Administration in Boston, and then he was the Secretary for the Industrial Accident Board for the State of Massachusetts until his retirement in 1991.
Frank was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the DAV of Boston. He and his beloved wife Palma (Troisi), loved to travel to Hawaii, Europe and other beautiful locations.
In addition to his beloved wife Palma (Troisi), Frank is survived by his sister-in-law Letitia Musto of Winchester. Loving uncle of Paul Picardi and Lisa Picardi both of Winchester.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. WOBURN, Tuesday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
