Obituary

Anne E. (McKenna) Wick, of Allston, passed away peacefully at her home on February 6, 2009 with her daughter by her side.
Anne was a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse in the Everett Public Schools for over 20 years. She had served in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign during World War II, had earned the Phillipine Liberation Medal, and was a proud member of the Allston/Brighton VFW Post.
Beginning in 1988, for many years Anne opened her home to foreign students from all over the world, who had come to Boston to pursue their studies.
Anne was the dear and devoted wife of the late William Wick; beloved mother of Susan Wick Barrett and her husband John of Alaska, and William Wick Jr. and his wife Lonnie of Winthrop; dear grandmother of Hanaki Driscoll of Rhode Island and Hepzaba Veenstra and her husband Nils of Winthrop; great-grandmother of Seth, Kayla, and Soren; loving sister of Mary Taylor of Brighton, James and Philip McKenna of NH, and the late Edward McKenna.
Anne's Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday February 9, 2009 at St. Anthony's Church, Allston.
A private burial will take place at a later date.
