Obituary

Magdalen (Volk) Timmerman of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2009, in Miami, Florida. She was 95 years of age.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Magdalen was the daughter of the late Magdalena (Oelsch) Volk and Jacob Volk. Magdalen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all.

Magdalen was very active at Saint Patrick Church, Stoneham. She was a Eucharist Minister. She was a member of the Lady Sodality, Legion of Mary and involved in C.Y.O. She was also a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.

Magdalen was the beloved wife of the late John Timmerman. She was the devoted mother of Joan Timmerman of NH, Father Gerard Timmerman, S.M., Paul Timmerman both of FL, Claire Timmerman Marotta and her husband Attorney William Marotta of Rockport and Karen Guthro of MD. Magdalen was the cherished grandmother of 6, Greatgrandmother of 4.


Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM on Friday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Magdalen’s Life in St. Patrick’s Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants available. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
