Walsh, Alfred J., age 90 of Manchester Township, NJ formerly of Syosset, NY died Friday, January 30, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee) Crawford. Devoted father of Kathleen Walsh Tufts and her husband William, Mary Ellen Walsh Weiland and her husband Robert, and Joan Walsh Siebenberg and her husband Marvin. Loving grandfather of Christopher Tufts, Pamela Tufts, Emily Spaeth, and Matthew Weiland. Loving great-grandfather of Sage Marie Spaeth. Dear brother of Catherine Walsh Attanasio and the late Frances Walsh. He is also the uncle of many nieces and nephews. Alfred was a US Navy Veteran having served during WWII and retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the US Air Naval Reserves in 1978. Funeral service Tuesday 9AM from the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck then to St. Anastasias RC Church for a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery in River Head, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday 2-4 and 7-9PM.
