David O. Ewing, 69, of Fitzgerald died Sunday, February 1, 2009, at the Riverview Nursing Home in Savannah, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with the Rev. Leroy Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Ewing was born on December 20, 1939 in Irwin County to the late Augustus Bacon Ewing and Ruby Thompson Ewing Smith. He was a 1959 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and was a retired exterminator. Mr. Ewing was an avid fisherman & hunter and was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law: Delaine & Ruel Joyner of Savannah, GA; Stepson & his wife: Greg & Christine James of Fitzgerald; Granddchildren: Ruby Rider Joyner of Savannah, Hailey Carver, Erika James and Coty James all of Fitzgerald; stepfather, Hugh Smith of Fitzgerald and several cousins.
